Is this right for me?

Twenty questions written by us, for you alone. Nothing is saved, scored, shared, or sent anywhere — this is not a diagnosis, a membership test, or medical advice.

  1. 1.Has someone else's behavior caused ongoing stress, fear, conflict, or financial strain in your life?

  2. 2.Do you find yourself trying to control, cover up, rescue, or monitor another person?

  3. 3.Have you put your own needs, sleep, relationships, finances, or safety aside because of someone else's behavior?

  4. 4.Would it help to speak with people who understand this experience?

  5. 5.Do you check someone's messages, accounts, bags, or whereabouts to feel calmer?

  6. 6.Do you change your plans around what mood the other person might be in?

  7. 7.Have you made excuses to family, friends, or an employer on their behalf?

  8. 8.Do you replay conversations, looking for what you should have said differently?

  9. 9.Has your own health — sleep, appetite, energy, medical appointments — slipped down the list?

  10. 10.Do you feel responsible for whether the other person is okay today?

  11. 11.Has money been lent, hidden, replaced, or lost because of their behavior?

  12. 12.Do you avoid raising things because of how the conversation usually ends?

  13. 13.Have you stopped inviting people over, or stopped going out?

  14. 14.Do you feel relief when they are away, and guilt about the relief?

  15. 15.Are there children or other dependents living with this situation too?

  16. 16.Have you told yourself that things will settle down if you just hold on a bit longer?

  17. 17.Do you find it hard to say what you need without apologising for it?

  18. 18.Has it been a long time since you did something purely because you enjoy it?

  19. 19.Do you have at least one person you can be completely honest with about this?

  20. 20.If a friend described your situation to you, what would you want for them?
